How Do I get the emo style without looking like a poser?
I love the style of emo - the hair, the jewelery(no, no piercings), the clothes, but my personality isn't emo. I want to have the style without looking like a poser. How do i do it?

- DONT DO IT TRUST ME! i tryed that last year to look emo but not be emo! everyone started hating me i had less friends and LESS LESS popularity! well thank goodness thats all fixed now im no more emo DRESSING but thatnkz to that year some people still remember 'the emo year of me' and they all said i has having like a hard time then or something. just DONT DO IT!
- Dont make many changes all at once, like dont change overnight because you will come off as a poser. Start with their clothing style first, then go into the hair. You dont have to be "emo" to look "emo". Scene might be better for you if you're dont have an "emo personality"
- Shop at Hot Topic and just buy stuff that you like. Not because it looks emo, but because it looks cool. My friends and I shop there a lot and we're totally NOT emo or gothic. We just like the clothes and stuff like you. Blend emo in with your style now. It shouldn't be too hard. Emoness is taking over the fashion world.
- DONT GO EMO
- I think personality comes 1st then everything else just comes act like one then youe get used to it. e.g dont smile! Then clothes then hair over your eyes etc
- put black eyeliner around your eyes- look at paramore (a band) and avril lavgine (a singer) for tips on your makeup. try if you can putting black highlights in your hair. if it's already black, put in a little purple streak-- but make sure your 'rents no whats up. walla! if you still need help check out: hottopic.com/ hope this helps! =)
- Start little by little. Like in one week try the hair. Give it another two weeks, then the shirts, after the clothes. then the rest. BUT GIVE IT TIME!

- try incorporating certain emo styles into your wardrobe gradually instead of wearing everything all at once lol and maybe make some emo friends? trust me they're pretty cool. If people call u a poser its their problem. 99% of people are posers and copying someone else's style. unless you make ur own clothes....lol but i dont think it really matters as long as you look cool. heres some scene/emo styles that i dont think is all out there.... http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=2794711 http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=2788408 http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=3058086
- well that's cool! its a really hot look i think i get all my clothes off lividthorn.com and ebay because you just know it'll be unique. the hair should be an easy one, just google search it on images and it'll come up with loads of ideas for you. :)
