Scene Style?

Within the past month i've noticed alot of girls with this new "scene" style. Where did it orignate from? And i cant help but to notice the females with this style are extremely ditzy and materialistic. Is this everywhere, is it part of the style or maybe just a coincidence the people i met have this in common??

1. In my opinion the scene style originated from the popularity of the internet. It's basically a bright and more outgoing emo style. I have noticed that scene girls act materialistic, but they don't ditzy to me. Famous internet scene girls are Audrey Kitching and Hanna Beth, you should look them up on google. They seem pretty smart and down to earth to me.
